Complete for an e-invoice
How it works
-
Fill in your details
Your business name, chamber of commerce number, VAT number and IBAN go in once. From then on they are on every invoice.
-
Make the invoice
Pick the client and the project, add the lines with quantity, price and VAT. The app works out the totals.
-
Download PDF or UBL
Email the PDF as you always do. Your client's accounting software reads the UBL file in, no retyping.
What you get
PDF and e-invoice
Download every invoice as a PDF and as a UBL file in the Peppol BIS 3.0 format, the European standard. Your client retypes nothing.
See what is missing
Missing your IBAN, your client's country code or VAT number? Every invoice shows what it still needs to be a valid e-invoice.
VAT per line
21, 9 or 0 percent per line, with the reason when you are exempt. The app works out subtotal, VAT and total.
Your clients in one place
Address, chamber of commerce and VAT number live with the client. Also for clients in Belgium or elsewhere in the EU.
Projects with a budget
Set what you expect per project and see what you have billed so far. You notice in time when a job runs over.
Every change kept
Changed or removed a line? The change log shows what was there. Restore a deleted line with one click.
Who it is for
Do you send invoices to businesses? Then this is for you.
Your invoice adds up, and your client retypes nothing.
Questions
Will e-invoicing become mandatory?
The Dutch government wants to make e-invoices between businesses mandatory, planned from 1 July 2030. It is not law yet: the date and the rules can change. Invoices to consumers are not included. If you make e-invoices now, there is nothing new to learn later.
What is a UBL file?
An invoice as data instead of a picture. Accounting software reads the amount, VAT, client and IBAN straight from it, without anyone retyping. Bills & Friends makes it in the Peppol BIS 3.0 format, the European standard (EN 16931).
Does Bills & Friends send through Peppol?
Not yet. You download the UBL file and email it, or upload it to your client's portal. Sending through the Peppol network itself may come later; tell me in the form if you need it.
What does it cost?
Nothing for now. Bills & Friends is new and free while I test it. If it ever costs money, you will hear well in advance and can take all your data with you.
Is this accounting software?
No. It makes invoices and keeps track of what you bill per client and project. Your bookkeeping, or your bookkeeper, reads those invoices in afterwards.
Where is my data?
On a server in the EU. Nobody else sees your clients or invoices, and nothing is sold. One button downloads everything as a backup, change log included.
Is it in English?
The app screens are. Your invoice is in Dutch, and you can change every text on it yourself.
Would you send your invoices with this?
Bills & Friends is new. Whether I turn it into a complete product depends on your answer. It's three questions.
